Nayyar Masud is one of the most influential fiction writers of modern Urdu Literature. Understanding his fiction has always been a challenge for critics.Urdu critics and some Western critics have tried their best to understand him. Some have compared him to Kafka, some to Borges.A great fiction writer has so many layers of meaning that it can be analyzed from many perspectives. In this article, Nayyar Masud is studied from the perspective of the narrator or protagonist. Solitude is the main problem of the narrator. When his family does not understand him, he creates his own world. He lives his life at every level parallel to the society and is satisfied. In this article we have discussed his different stories. Tried to analyze such characters. Tried to know the difference between loneliness and solitude. An attempt has been made to examine the reasons for the isolation of the characters in these stories and the changes that took place in their inner selves as a result. The story of Nayyer is not written on the basis of the main event but on the basis of how the narrator sees and experiences life.
