Abstract

Significant laryngeal injuries are rare and often fatal. Incidence is estimated to be one in 30,000 emergency room visits. A much smaller subset result in complete laryngotracheal separation, classically as a result of blunt force trauma [1]. To the author's knowledge, only two cases of such injury sustained by stabbing have been reported in the literature [2,3]. Here we present the third reported case.
