Abstract

During acute stroke, blood glucose and sodium may fluctuate and act as a predictor for mortality. The purpose of the study was to predict potential indicators of in-hospital mortality, based on blood sugar and sodium. There were 60 participants, of which 30 were allotted to random blood glucose and 30 to blood sodium group. On admission demographic, clinical variables, RAAC scale, and mini-mental status examination were assessed. The RBS and blood sodium was assessed on admission and 10th day of admission for group A and group B, respectively. Both groups showed improvement in RBS/sodium towards normal on the 10th day of admission. No mortality in either group. Hospitalization days were more in group B.
