Abstract
- Oral squamous cell carcinoma is the most common type of oral cancer with multi-factorial causes. Chronic irritation of oral mucosa from ill-fitting dentures has often been mentioned as a contributing factor in the development of oral cancer. There is a unique category of non-smoking non-drinking (NSND) patients reported with carcinoma which usually occurs in women. In contrast to this, our report includes a male patient who is an NSND patient. This case report includes a rare occurrence of carcinoma induced by ill-fitting prosthesis.
