Organization: Looking for a Definition and its Functionality

This paper is a theoretical essay that aims to analyze the meaning of organization and its functionality according to organizational theories. Therefore, we analyzed the classical articles, which are included in the teaching plans of Organizational Theories subject taught in Business Administration courses in Brazil. From a multitheoretical perspective, a research agenda suggests the use of this perspective in the analysis of the organizational phenomenon.
