Abstract
- Remote sensing alteration information extraction is mainly in bare or low vegetation coverage area. However, the extraction of alteration mineral information in high vegetation coverage has always been a difficult problem.Multi-spectral satellite data represented by Sentinel-2 has the characteristics of wide width, optimized spatial and spectral resolutions, however, they have not been applied to the extraction of alteration mineral information in high vegetation coverage areas. Therefore, based on the difference of spectral characteristics between vegetation and minerals, combined with the characteristics of Sentinel-2 multi-spectral sensor band settings, the band combinations were selected and the differential process was performed, the multi-spectral differential vegetation suppression (MDVS) method was proposed. The results show that MDVS can effectively remove the influence of dense vegetation. Cooperated with principal component transformation, the alteration information of hydroxyl and iron minerals can be extracted accurately. This research lays the foundation for extraction of alteration mineral mapping in large areas with high vegetation coverage, and is of great significance to the application and popularization of remote sensing technology.
