Abstract

With the development of the nuclear industry, radioactive iodine has been identified as one of the most dangerous nuclear waste materials. The adsorption of radioactive iodine waste gas is also important for reducing nuclear pollution. Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) are a kind of porous crystal material formed by the self-assembly and interconnection of inorganic metal centers (such as metal ions or metal clusters) and bridged organic ligands. Due to their porosity and high specific surface area,MOFs are considered as ideal iodine adsorption materials. This article mainly reviews the research progress of MOFs materials in the field of iodine adsorption. Firstly,it briefly discusses the progress of different metal-centered MOFs in iodine adsorption in recent years. Secondly,it explores the adsorption capacity of MOFs composite materials for radioactive iodine. Finally,it looks forward to the future development trend of efficient radioactive iodine adsorption MOFs materials.
