Abstract

Key points 1. Four plain emulgel formulas were prepared and investigated for physiochemical and stability properties (F1–F4). 2. The emulgel F3 exhibited optimum smooth homogeneous consistency, neutral pH, acceptable viscosity, spreadability, extrudability values and best storage stability properties. 3. A murine skin model infected with clinical MRSA isolate was established and wounds were monitored via apparent physical wound healing measurements and histopathological examination. 4. The MF3 containing 4% LRJ and 50% GE has shown the highest in vivo wound healing capacities.
