This article aims to identify the metafictional processes that involve an introverted narration in the novel Kétala by Fatou Diome. It also tries to track down their references while trying, however, to link the author’s textual performance her personal experience in order to see the investment of the reflexive games that Diome links to a real narrative work, which she calls: the word-motage
