Abstract

Climate change causes a significant impact on fluctuating agricultural production and food security. This study aimed to assess farmer’s adaptation strategy to the impact of climate change in cassava farming and to analyze the food security level of cassava farming household. This research was conducted in Gunung Agung Village and Gunung Batin Village, Terusan Nunyai Subdistrict, Central Lampung Regency. Total of 66 cassava farmers was selected through simple random sampling. Data analysis applied were the analysis of qualitative descriptive and analysis of food security level according to the definition mentioned by FAO and UU RI. No 7 in 1996, and Ordinal Logit (Ologit) analysis. The result of this study showed that there are 5 average climate change impact adaptation strategies applied by cassava farmer. In the majority, the food security level of cassava farming household was found to fall into the category of less secure. Climate change adaptation strategy, land size, and price of rice were identified to affect the food security of cassava farming household.
