Abstract
- Here, we present the first reliable record of the Bluestriped fangblenny, Plagiotremus rhinorhynchos in Korea, based on two specimens (65.9–67.1 mm in standard length) collected at a depth of 12 m in the southern coastal waters of Jejudo Island. This species was previously speculated to inhabit the coastal waters of Jejudo Island based only on a single image obtained through underwater photography. The species is characterized by the presence of two brilliant bluish stripes on the side of the body when fresh, a fleshy and conical snout, long-base dorsal and anal fins, and the chisel-shaped tip of its dentary incisors.
