Abstract

The article deals with the role of the United States in forming military doctrine of Japan from 1945 to 2010. The article also examined the influence of Samurai military tradition on military and ideological training of Japanese army and Navy since the late 19th to mid 20th century, the history of development of strategic relations between the United States and Japan after the Second World War in military, economic and political fields. Documents on political and economic development of Japan from 1945 to the present day have been explored; factors which have had a huge impact on the formation of a new military doctrine have been examined.
