Abstract

Boundary value problems are problems that are frequently encountered in the wave transmission. This paper discusses three numerical methods of type overrelaxation for solving boundary value problems. The methods discussed are Successive overrelaxation (SOR), Accelerative overrelaxation (AOR) and Rotated Successive Over-relaxation (RSOR). In this paper, generalized formulations for these three methods were developed. Results showed that the Generalized SOR and AOR method produce the highest accuracy, whereas Generalized RSOR method is the fastest solver.
