Abstract

Infectious aortitis is an uncommon vascular pathology that can be associated with development of pseudoaneurysms and mycotic aneurysms of the thoracic or abdominal aorta. Non-typhoidal Salmonellae most commonly cause gastroenteritis in adults and can rarely lead to infectious aortitis. In this report, we describe the case of a patient who presented with fevers and back pain and underwent treatment of a Salmonella-associated pseudoaneurysm of the infrarenal aorta with open in situ reconstruction.
