Abstract
- Rhee, Pokrovskaya et al. utilize 3D electron microscopy of mouse jugular vein puncture wounds to reveal thrombi structured around localized, nucleated platelet aggregates that produced a vaulted thrombus capped by extravascular platelet adherence. As a result, the authors propose a “Cap and Build” paradigm of primary hemostasis.
