Abstract

Objective: Identify the factors associated with the symptoms of depression in people with heart failure. Method: Cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach, conducted with individuals diagnosed with heart failure in follow-up at the cardiology outpatient clinic of a university hospital in the municipality of João Pessoa, Paraíba, Brazil. The data was collected from December 2021 to May 2022 using a sociodemographic and clinical characterization instrument and the Patient Health Questionnaire-9. Analysis by descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: Of the 89 participants, 32.6% reported symptoms of depression.
