Abstract

In my study, I tried to give a brief description of how the Orient was perceived by the West, mainly focusing on the first hand experience that the Romantic currents leader in painting, Eugène Delacroix had before and during his travels to the Maghrebian lands. Also I analized and presented this East – West clash, based on of the paradigm launched by Edward Said, Orientalism.
