Abstract

The objective of this study is to know the profiles of teacher-researchers and researchers who use the WhatsApp mobile application in their teaching practices at the Félix HOUPHOUËT-BOIGNY University (UFHB). The reference theory to explain this fact is constructivism in the thought of Piaget which emphasizes the relationship of the individual to his immediate environment to construct his knowledge. This study takes a purely descriptive approach with a sample of approximately 170 teacher-researchers and researchers at Houphouët-Boigny University. The collection tools, for the questionnaire survey are the questionnaire developed on Google Forms and sent via email addresses (147) and for the semi-structured interviews, the interview guide administered via WhatsApp. The data collected, processed using Excel 2016 and SPSS 26, highlighted two main elements: socio-demographic and professional characteristics and a categorization of UFHB teacher-researchers and researchers according to the uses they make of WhatsApp at UFHB.
