Abstract

Abstract A review of the findings of pottery fragments was carried out in order to determine the location of sites with the composition of pottery. In this study applied the methods and techniques of chemical analysis to determine the amount of the percentage of each constituent element of pottery. In this analysis found the eleven constituent elements in pottery, namely silica, aluminum, iron, titanium, calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, manganese, phosphorous, and crom. In these studies used samples of pottery from Tambah Luhur site, Purbolinggo District, and pottery from the Walur site, Pesisir Utara District. Both sites are located far apart, ie in the East Lampung and West Lampung. Based on these data the elemental composition of pottery and its physical properties, is used to determine if the pottery is from the same clay source, or vice versa. Chemical elements composition analysis results indicated that pottery made of different clay. So that concluded that the clay used from different sources. Related to the environment concluded that in the past never happened used natural resources adaptation activities that are available on the site.
