O COLAPSO DO CICLO ECONÔMICO BRASILEIRO NO PERÍODO MILITAR/The Collapse of the Brazilian Economic Cycle in the Military Period

Este trabalho tem por objetivo fornecer uma leitura econômica do final do governo militar brasileiro segundo a teoria austríaca dos ciclos econômicos. O auge desse período, chamado de “milagre” econômico, deu início a um ciclo que culminou na crise dos anos 1980. As constantes intervenções do governo no sistema econômico, a fim de promover investimentos, acelerar o crescimento, estimular setores considerados prioritários e controlar preços, promoveram o processo inflacionário e a “década perdida” de 1980. Abstract: This paper aims to provide an economic reading of the end of the Brazilian military government according to the Austrian theory of economic cycles. The peak of this period, called the economic “miracle”, started a cycle that culminated in the crisis of the 1980s. The constant government interventions in the economic system, in order to promote investments, accelerate growth, stimulate priority sectors and control prices, promoted the inflationary process, and the “lost decade” of the 1980s.
