Abstract

The objective of the study was to analyze publications in the Portuguese language which describe characteristics of interventions with physical activity opportunities in the primary healthcare in Brazil. Searches were performed on the LILACS, Medline, and Scielo electronic databases, through the use of the descriptors “Exercise”, “Unified Health System”, “Primary Healthcare”, and “Health Promotion. A group of 10 articles passed the criteria for inclusion, exclusion and applied electronic filters. The publications begin to happen from the year 2000 and the intervention characteristics described in the studies indicate that opportunities for the practice of physical exercises were more prevalent (60%) compared to the health education actions, being executed mainly in the form of aerobic exercises (60%) aimed for adults and the elderly (80%), offering opportunities more often in the basic health units (60%). There was great interest in the evaluation of sociodemographic variables (100%) and health metabolic/hemodynamic indicators (60%). It was concluded that the physical activity opportunities in the (PHC) are aimed for the control of determinant and conditioning factors of chronic non-communicable diseases.
