Abstract
- This descriptive study analyzed the recording of activities carried out by healthcare professionals in the Primary Healthcare Information System. It used records from the Primary Healthcare Units of Divinópolis in the state of Minas Gerais, from the period 1998 – 2010; the information was stored, organized and categorized according to the set of activities carried out and professional category; the descriptive analysis was done using the program TabWin, version 3.6. In the period in question, more than 1.6 million activities were registered, with individual activities predominating (65%). Group activities represented 11,3% of the records, while home visits and educational activities represented 6,3% and 1,3% respectively. It was concluded that the principal activities reflect traditional, illness-centered care practices which prioritize individualized care to the detriment of activities based around prevention, health promotion and family healthcare, as is called for by the principles of Primary Healthcare in Brazil
