Gustavo Petro: the First Leftist Govern-ment in Colombian History

The government of Gustavo Petro aims to establish a devel-opment plan called "Colombia World Power for Life", where he expects to realize programs, plans, and projects, and to provide subsidies for the population in condition of poverty and vulnerability, to reform the fiscal, labor, justice legisla-tion and to improve education and health systems. The agen-da of the government includes also dialogue with the aim of establishing the total peace with the different actors of the armed conflict, overcoming historical injustice, ensuring a decent life for the population and social inclusion. In the same way, the change in the way of relating to the environment is sought with a productive transformation based on knowledge and in harmony with nature.
