Abstract

Abstract: Common people played an important role in ancient Egyptian religion, especially through which is known "popular religion" and "personal piety" , which had wide spread from New kingdom period onwards. One of the important places in which common people performed their cult and did their daily rites were some chapels which is called "xnw". The Khenow chapels were built through streets and lanes in cities and villages, it had simple plane, and contained a statue or a stela of the god who was worshiped inside it. Through texts and excavations we knew little information about some khenow chapels such as: *Khenow the king Ramesses II. * Khenow Ptah. * Khenow Amon-Re. * Khenow Keserty. * Khenow Horemakhet.
