Model of spirituality-based faculty development (Case: University of Qom)

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explain the faculty development based on spirituality in Qom University. The research method is applied and descriptive. The statistical population of the study consists of all faculty members of Qom University (N = 284). Sample size was calculated using Cochran's formula of 164 people who were studied by appropriate sampling method. Organizational spirituality questionnaire (α = 0.996) and faculty development questionnaire (α = 0.916) were used to collect data. Construct validity of the tool was verified by First order confirmatory factor analysis. The results of the One-Sample T Test showed that the faculty development in Qom University and the four their components, individual spirituality and their sub-components were higher than the average, but the organization-based spirituality was less than average Among the components of organizational-centered spirituality, spirituality-based leadership is equal to, and other sub-components below the theoretical average. Pearson correlation coefficients indicated that there is a positive and significant relationship between individual and organization-based spirituality and the faculty development and their components. The results of structural equation modeling indicate that the model of the role of individual spirituality and organization-based spirituality in the faculty development. Organization-based Spirituality also has a greater impact on the faculty development in Qom University (γ = 0/47).
