Abstract
- The paper discusses the results of an empirical study of the motivation and self-control characteristics in cadets of the Ministry of Internal Affairs university at different stages of training. The theoretical basis of the paper is research analysis of different works made by different authors, confirming the polymotivation and dynamism of motivational characteristics in the process of carrying out educational and professional activities. The study involved 118 cadets of The Vladimir Kikot Moscow University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia at all stages of training (aged from 17 to 22 years). To collect empirical data, the following methods were used: “Scale of academic motivation” (authors T.O. Gordeeva, O.A. Sychev, E.N. Osin); questionnaire of volitional self-control (authors A.G. Zverkov, E.V. Eidman). The results of the study showed statistically significant differences in the intensity of educational and professional motivation and self-control at different stages of training. The results obtained can be used to optimize the process and quality of training of future law enforcement officers.
