Abstract
- The understanding of sung vocal performance is usually oriented to the study of anatomical-physiological aspects based on analysis with specific instruments and software. However, the experiential dimension of whoever produces a vocal sound and, above all, the corporeality involved in the construction of such a performance, are usually relegated to the background. In this work, we analyze the performative implications of the laryngeal movement in the deep and intermediate positions from the first-person experience of four developing singers. We consider that laryngeal positions have a corporeal-sonorous correlate of great impact on sung performance, which goes beyond the anatomical-physiological dimension and may be relevant in vocal development and the approach to popular music in the pedagogical field.
