Abstract. Rehabilitation systems in Australia and Japan represent a multidisciplinary team approach that have similarities and differences. Treatment is based on a goal-driven, holistic, patient-centered approach. This article provides an overview of the structure of the rehabilitation systems in Australia and Japan, including written guidelines, in-hospital programs, and postdischarge options.
