Abstract

This document gives a report about the educational experience called: Universidad Intercultural del Estado de Tabasco (UIET) located in the town of Oxolotan in the municipality of Tacotalpa. Referred data covers a period of ten years (from 2005 to 2015) and they are part of the research project “Significance and influence of intercultural education in the daily life of students at UIET”. This project was worked out from 2009 to 2011 as part of the research line named as Researching and interculturality. This text shows, from a critical perspective, the historical development at the University as well as the way in which intercultural education is conceived in this Higher Education Institution.Moreover, the formation process at UIET is analyzed as well as the actors involved, the different stages of construction, obstacles and challenges it has faced. All these through two kinds of supplies: first, starting with official documents of this institution; and second, about the use of qualitative researching methods and techniques through we identified, from de teachers and students experience, the vision about the becoming of UIET.
