PRÁTICA COTIDIANAS E CONSTRUÇÃO DOS LUGARES: HISTÓRIA E MEMÓRIAS NA REGIÃO DE CITROLÂNDIA

Resumo: O trabalho apresenta as primeiras impressões de um estudo que tem como objetivo analisar as relações construídas entre os moradores da região do Citrolândia e seus espaços. A singularidade desse lugar, localizado no município de Betim, na Região Metropolitana de Belo Horizonte, se expressa em sua formação. A ocupação teve início em 1940 no entorno de uma cidadela, a Colônia Santa Isabel, criada pelo poder público para isolamento e segregação de pessoas com hanseníase em 1930. A abertura dos espaços da Colônia ocorre na década de 1980, período no qual a região do Citrolândia, que até então era o destino dos familiares dos atingidos pela doença para moradia, passa a ser ocupada por outros grupos, recebendo novos moradores. Ao considerar que na dinâmica histórica não só o passado alimenta o presente, como também, o presente reconstrói as experiências do passado, busca-se desvelar por meio da memória as lacunas da história desse lugar. Assim, os relatos orais dos moradores que ali permaneceram até os dias atuais são analisados como expressões de suas práticas na construção desses espaços, apropriados e ressignificados cotidianamente, convertendo-os lugares de memória. Palavras-chave: Cidades; História; Memória Abstract: The work presents the first impressions of a study that aims to analyze the relationships built between residents of the Citrolândia region and their spaces. The uniqueness of this place, located in the municipality of Betim, in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte, is expressed in its formation. The occupation began in 1940 in the vicinity of a citadel, Colônia Santa Isabel, created by the public authorities for isolation and segregation of people with leprosy in 1930. The opening of the Colony spaces takes place in the 1980s, a period in which the Citrolândia, which until then was the destination of family members of those affected by the disease for housing, is now occupied by other groups, receiving new residents. When considering that in the historical dynamics, not only does the past feed the present, but also the present reconstructs the experiences of the past, it seeks to reveal through memory the gaps in the history of that place. Thus, the oral reports of the residents who remained there until the present day are analyzed as expressions of their practices in the construction of these spaces, appropriated and re-signified daily, converting them into places of memory.
