Abstract

In archaeology and geography, at the end of nineteenth century, spatial organizations revealed a type of civilization. In case of cultural transformation, shapes have to change too. Morphology was a tool for study societies. Nowadays, the link between forms and society is not so simple for researchers. The changes in society don’t mean a total reorganization of spatial organization. Heritages are important. And organization can be produced without planning. Researchers use the concepts of self-organization and urban fabric to separate production of shapes and strategies of actors. But it is not a new kind of determinism because people pass on the forms with their social practices.
