Abstract
- Antennas operating in the high-frequency (HF) bands are generally relatively large in size, which severely limits the application of the antennas. Therefore, miniaturisation of the antenna is necessary. Here, a dual-folded structure Yagi antenna is designed for HF surface wave radar (SWR). Genetic algorithm is employed to optimise and balance the antenna size and performance. At the same operating frequency, the optimised antenna size is much smaller than the traditional Yagi antenna size and can meet the performance requirements of HF surface wave radar transmitting antenna.
