A new approach to renormalization group improved gravitational action

Abstract

A new gravitational action is presented that could be a fair minimal description of the effective gravitational action in the context of Asymptotic Safety. It generates consistent modified Einstein equations where $\Lambda$ and $G$ are functions of spacetime. In addition, these equations respect, without any ad hoc choices, the Bianchi identities. We analyse this action in a quantum cosmology scenario. Furthermore, assuming homogeneous and isotropic spacetime, the action gives a non singular cosmology with power law inflation. Tensor and scalar perturbations have been used to constraint the free parameters.
