Abstract

In this review, the current advancements in electrochromic sensors based on two-dimensional (2D) materials with rich chemical and physical properties are critically examined. By summarizing the current trends in and prospects for utilizing multifunctional electrochromic devices (ECDs) in environmental monitoring, food quality control, medical diagnosis, and life science-related investigations, we explore the potential of using 2D materials for rational design of ECDs with compelling electrical and optical properties for biochemical sensing applications.<br />Comment: 37 pages, 9 Figures, 2 tables
