Abstract

This paper introduces an advanced load shedding algorithm to improve the operability performance of a medium voltage direct current (MVDC) integrated shipboard power and energy system. Outcomes are compared to a baseline algorithm while considering power generation contingency scenarios. The case study is conducted with a real-time, embedded algorithm implementation using a control hardware-in-the-loop (CHIL) setup.<br />Comment: 6 pages, 9 figures
