Abstract
- AMAÇ: Kliniğimizde kolon ve rektum kanseri nedeniyle ameliyat edilen olguların yaş, cinsiyet ve hastalık ile ilgili özelliklerini ortaya koymak ve güncel literatür eşliğinde, verilerimizi karşılaştırmaktır.YÖNTEMLER: Kolon ve rektum tümörü tanısıyla ameliyat edilen 123 olgunun dosyaları Trabzon NumuneEğitim Araştırma Hastanesi arşivinden retrospektif olarak taranarak, hastalarda yaş, cinsiyet, tümör lokalizasyonu, cerrahi tedavi şekli ve evresi değerlendirildi.BULGULAR: Çalışmaya dahil edilen 123 hastanın 77 (%62.6)’si erkek, 46 (%37.4)’sı kadındı. Tüm hastaların yaş ortalaması 66,01±14.15 idi. Hastaların 61 (%49.6)’inde rektumda, 24 (%19.5)’ünde sağ kolonda, 18 (%14.6)’inde sigmoid kolonda, 18 (%14.6)’inde sol kolonda, 2 (1.6%)’ sinde senkron tümör saptandı.Histopatolojik incelemede tüm hastalarda adenokarsinom saptandı. Hastaların %11.4 (n=14)’ünde Aster Collerevre A, %29.3 (n=36)’ünde evre B, %48.8 (n=60)’inde evre C, %10.6 (n=13)’ünde evre D olarak saptandı.SONUÇ: Rektosigmoid bölge en sık tümörün saptandığı alan olup, olguların yarısından fazlası ileri evrededir.Yüksek tedavi maliyetleri ve prognozun kötü seyrederek ölümle sonuçlanma olasılığı dikkate alınarak, kolorektalkanser tarama programları daha etkin olarak uygulanmalıdır.<br />OBJECTIVE: Colorectal cancer is now one of the most common cancer in both males and females. The aim of the present study was to determine the characteristics, related to age, gender and disease, of the patients who underwent surgery for colorectal cancer and also, to discuss our data with the results from the current literature.METHODS: In the present study, reports of 123 subjects who underwent surgery with the diagnosisof colon and rectal cancer were retrospectively studied in Trabzon Numune Training and Research Hospital.Characteristics of the patients with colo-rectal cancer related to age, gender, tumor location, surgical proceduresand the tumor grade were evaluated.RESULTS: Of the 123 patients enrolled into the study, 77 (62.6%) were male and 46 (37.4%) were female. Themean age of the patients was 66.01±14.15. The 49.6 percent (n=61) of tumors were located in the rectum,19.5% (n=24) in right colon, 14.6% (n=18) in sigmoid colon, 14.6% (n=18) in left colon and 1.6% (n=2) insynchronous tumor. Histopathological examination revealed that all patients had adenocarcinoma. A total of11.4% (n=14) of patients were in Aster Coller stage A, 29.3% (n=36) of patients were in stage B, 48.8% (n=60)of patients in stage C and 10.6% (n=13) of patients in stage D.CONCLUSION: The rectosigmoid area was the most frequently involved site and also, it was found that over half ofthe patients had further stage in the present study. Considering high treatment costs and the probability of poorprognosis resulting in death, colorectal cancer screening programs should be implemented more effectively inpractice.
