Le Propre et l’Étranger : le problème de la traduction de la littérature de jeunesse française en ukrainien

The translation of children’s literature has certain specificities because it must be subject to several constraints: taking into account the double recipient in children’s literature (child and adult), the educational purpose, the diastratic variation, etc. Wonderful Neighbors (2016) by Hélène Lasserre is a children’s book about difference, tolerance and living together. The gap between French and Ukrainian cultures leads to problems with the perception of socio-cultural realia by readers of the target language who sometimes misunderstand or even reject them. In this intervention, we analyze the perception of the album by the readership of the source and target culture based on the comments of the readers which will allow understanding the editorial strategies and the choices of translation procedures made by the translators. In particular, we study the text-image relationships and the influence of extralinguistic factors on the lexical level. In a second step, it is necessary to analyze the role of the educational purpose which may provide for certain censorship of children’s text to which the translator must obey in order to meet the demands of a publisher and his/her readership.
La traduction de la littérature jeunesse présente certaines spécificités, car elle doit être soumise aux plusieurs contraintes : prise en compte du destinataire double en littérature jeunesse (enfant et adulte), de la finalité pédagogique, de la variation diastratique, etc. Merveilleux voisins (2016) d’Hélène Lasserre est un livre pour enfants qui parle de la différence, de la tolérance et du vivre-ensemble. L’écart entre les cultures française et ukrainienne entraine les problèmes de la perception des realia socioculturels par les lecteurs de la langue cible qui les mécomprennent parfois ou même rejettent. Dans un premier temps, nous analyserons la perception de l’album par le lectorat de la culture source et et celui de la culture cible en nous basant sur les commentaires des lecteurs ce qui nous permettra de comprendre les stratégies éditoriales et les choix de procédés de traduction faits par les traducteurs. Notamment, nous étudierons les rapports texte-image et l’influence des facteurs extralinguistiques sur le niveau lexical. Dans un second temps, il conviendra d’analyser le rôle de la finalité pédagogique qui peut entrainer une certaine censure du texte pour enfants à laquelle le traducteur doit obéir pour répondre à la demande d’un éditeur et de son lectorat.
Переклад дитячої літератури має певні особливості, оскільки повинен враховувати численні обмеження: це подвійний адресат дитячої літератури (дитина та дорослий), педагогічні цілі, діастратична варіативність тощо. Чудові сусіди (2016) Елен Лассер – текст дитячої книги, яка описує різноманітність, толерантність і вміння людей співіснувати. Відмінність між французькою та українською культурами зумовлює появу проблеми в сприйнятті соціокультурних реалій читачами цільової мови, які подеколи не розуміють їх або навіть відкидають. На основі читацьких коментарів у статті аналізуватиметься рецепція вімельбуха читачами вихідної та цільової мов, що дозволить осмислити проблему вибору перекладацьких стратегій і прийомів, які застосовуються в перекладах літератури для дітей. Зокрема, вивчатиметься співвідношення між текстом-картинкою і вплив екстралінгвістичних факторів на лексичний рівень. Буде окреслена й аналізуватиметься роль педагогічних цілей, досягнення яких може передбачати цензурні обмеження, котрим перекладач вимушений підкорятися, аби текст відповідав вимогам видавців і читачів.
