Abstract: We describe the use of laparoscopic techniques in hysterectomy, and the epidemiology of hysterectomy. We review the advantages and complications of total laparoscopic hysterectomy and subtotal laparoscopic hysterectomy. Finally, we discuss long-term outcomes and the cost of these techniques.
