Abstract

Adiponectin (APN) is a protein hormone secreted mainly by adipose tissue that exhibits biological functions such as anti-inflammatory, anti-atherosclerotic, anti-apoptotic, hearing-protective and microcirculation-regulating functions. In this study, we explored whether APN could attenuate damage caused by CoClWe first cultured and identified primary SMCs of the SMA. Afterward, the SMCs were pre-treated with APN and then stimulated with CoClCompared with the control group, the group treated with CoClOur study demonstrated that APN protected SMCs against CoCl
