Une génération féministe ?

Trois autrices finlandaises du début du xxe siècle, Aino Kallas, Maria Jotuni et L. Onerva, ont écrit de nombreuses œuvres où elles soutiennent activement la cause des femmes, en particulier dans le genre de la nouvelle. Cet article présente leurs textes les plus importants à cet égard, en évoquant la façon dont ces autrices ont rendu compte des inégalités hommes/femmes et ont décrit les « femmes nouvelles » du début du siècle, tout en laissant une place à un discours plus critique à l’égard de certains personnages féminins. L’auteur se propose d’analyser les valeurs véhiculées plus ou moins directement par les textes du corpus, pour mettre en avant ce qui fait la spécificité de ces autrices possédant chacune un style très différent, mais qui sont toutes les trois associées au féminisme finlandais. Three Finnish authors from the beginning of the 20th century, Aino Kallas, Maria Jotuni and L. Onerva, have written numerous works in which they actively support the cause of women, particularly in the short story genre. This article presents their most important texts in this regard, by evoking the way in which these female authors took account of the inequalities between men and women and described the “new women” of the turn of the century, while leaving room for a more critical discourse of certain female characters. The author sets out to analyse the values conveyed more or less directly by the texts in the corpus, in order to highlight what makes the specificity of these authors who had different writing styles but are all three associated with Finnish feminism. Kolme 1900-luvun alun suomalaista kirjailijaa, Aino Kallas, Maria Jotuni ja L. Onerva, ovat kirjoittaneet lukuisia teoksia, joissa he tukevat aktiivisesti naisten asemaa, erityisesti novellilajissa. Tässä artikkelissa esitellään heidän tärkeimmät tekstinsä tässä suhteessa viitaten tapaan, jolla nämä kirjoittajat ottivat huomioon miesten ja naisten välisen epätasa-arvon ja kuvasivat vuosisadan vaihteen ”uusia naisia” jättäen samalla tilaa kriittisemmälle keskustelulle tietyistä naishahmoista. Artikkelin kirjoittaja analysoi korpuksen tekstien enemmän tai vähemmän suoraan välittämiä arvoja, korostaakseen näiden hyvin erilaista tyyliä käyttävien, suomalaiseen feminismiin liittyvien kirjoittajien joitakin erityispiirteitä.
