Abstract

Rezultatima je utvrđeno da postoji negativna povezanost između indeksa tjelesne mase i pojedinih PREFIT testova.<br />In this thesis, there are described concepts of growth and development as well as evolvent of physical growth through the stages of maturation phases. Also, all the tests of the PREFIT battery of tests that were conducted in the research to assess the physical fitness of preschool children are described. The goal of this research is to determine the development of physical fitness and the interrelationship of individual abilities, as well as gender differences in them in preschool children. 39 children (21 boys and 18 girls) of preschool age with an average age of 6.28 from two kindergartens in Osijek participated in the research. The PREFIT battery of tests was used to assess coordination, agility, balance, explosive strength, isometric strength and speed. The research found that there is no difference between the sexes, considering that at this developmental stage the differences between boys and girls are minimal or almost non-existent. The results showed that there is a negative correlation between body mass index and some PREFIT tests.
