Politics vs. education & education vs. politics: The case of the Palestinian students under occupation

İnsan Hakları Evrensel Beyannamesi, Eğitimi, insanın kişiliğinin gelişimini sağlayan, insan haklarına ve temel özgürlüklere duyulan saygının güçlendirilmesine hizmet eden temelhaklardan biri olarak kabul eder. Filistin topraklarında sürmekte olan İşgal ve de Filistintoplumunun içsel dinamikleri, yüksek öğretim düzeyinde farklı işlevlerin ortaya çıkmasınaneden olmuştur. Bu çalışma, ilk olarak, aileyle eğitim arasındaki ilişkiyi gelenekler ve dinaçısından incelemeyi hedefler. İkincisi, İsrail işgalinin eğitim hayatı ve öğrencilerinpsikolojileri üzerindeki etkilerini ortaya çıkarmaya çalışır. Ve de son olarak, toplumsalcinsiyet ve politika ile ilişkileri içerisinde eğitimin işlevini inceler. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights recognizes Education as one of the basic humanrights through which development of the human personality and the strengthening of respectfor human rights and fundamental freedoms can be succeeded. The Occupation existing in thePalestinian Territories and the internal dynamics of the Palestinian community initiatedifferent functions of higher education. This study seeks, first, to analyze the connectionbetween family and education in terms of traditional customs and religion. Secondly, thisstudy tries to explore the effect of Israeli occupation on the educational life and on thepsychology of the students and finally to explore and analyze the function of educationalspace in relation to gender and politics. 100
