Abstract

SUMMARY HAYTA, Necdet: `The Aegean Island Question (1911-1 923)`, Ph.D. Dissertation. (TAdvişûi?:Prof.Dr.Şerafettin TQRAN), Vl+143 p.- The dissertation has six chapters. In the first chapter, the so vereignty of Turkish and further developments on the Aegean Island have been examined. In the second chapter, the following event has been explained after Italiam'failure in Tripoli(Trablusgarp) Har, they tried to spread the war through other lands of Ottoman Empire because their aim was to make Ottoman Government leave Tripoli and Bingazi in order to reach their purpose they occupied Rhodes and Dodecanese. In the third chapter, the condition of Ottoman and Greek fleets before Balkan War has beeft studied and the occupation of Greece on the other islands has also emphasised. In the following chapter, the previous developments and the negotiations of Ottoman and Greece after London Treaty and the aiw of great powers to leave the North Aegean Islands to Greece except Imroz(Gökçeada) and Tenedos (Bozcaada) regâialiiig London Treaty have been examined. In the fifth chapter, after the great powers1 declaration, the negotiations between Greece and Ottoman Empire, and Greece and Italy have been explained and the situation about these islands in Paris Conferance and Sevres has been studied.
