Niğde, Nevşehir ve Aksaray illerinden toplanan peletlerle strıgıformes (clasis: aves) ordosu üyelerinin besin analizi

Peletler, Niğde, Nevşehir ve Aksaray İllerindeki 11 farklı yerden ve çeşitli habitatlardan (bina çatıları, ağaç altı mağara v.b) toplanmıştır. Toplanan bu peletler % 5'lik NaOH içerisinde çözdürülmüş ve tayin için kullanacağımız yapıların kıl veya tüylerden ayrılması sağlanmıştır. Avlanan bireylerin tayininde; memelilerde kafatası ve alt çene, kuşlarda kafatası ve gaga, sürüngenlerde alt çene, böğlerde çene parçaları, akrepler ve böceklerde ise çeşitli vücut parçaları kullanılmıştır. Birey yoğunluğu peletlerden çıkan kemiklerin yoğunluğuna göre tespit edilmiştir. Yaptığımız çalışma ile Kukumav'a (Athene noctua) ait 329 pelet toplanmış ve 298 birey tespit edilmiştir. Kulaklı Orman Baykuşu'na (Asio otus) ait 15 pelet toplanmış ve 10 birey tespit edilirken Puhu'ya (Bubo bubo) ait 58 pelet toplanmış ve 163 birey tespit edilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda bölgede yaşayan üç baykuş türünün besin tercihleri ve bu besin tercihlerinin yoğunluğu tespit edilmiştir. The pellets were collected from roosting sites (abandoned buildings, ruins and rocks) from different 11 localities of Niğde, Nevşehir and Aksaray provinces between 2004 to 2009. The samples were treated in 5 % NaOH to decompose hair and feathers. The identification of the prey species was performed on the following bones: skulls in mammals; skulls and bills in birds; os mandibula in reptiles. Prey abundance was determined according to the highest abundance of the examined bones. Invertebrate taxa are identified and determined their abundance based on the characteristic parts of their bodies (i.e. exoskeleton of insects, mandibula of sunspiders, various parts of scorpions? bodies). As a result of the study, 298 specimens from 329 pellets belong to Little Owl (Athene noctua), 10 specimens from 15 pellets belong to Long-eared Owl (Asio otus) and 163 specimens from 58 pellets belong to Eagle Owl (Bubo bubo).In conclusion this three owl species? nutrition choice and nutrition choice?s volume are determined. 104
