oz Tezde araştırılan temel sorun; bankacılık krizleri ve bankacılık sektörü yeniden yapılandırma uygulamalarıdır. Araştırma konusunun ülke gündemini fazlasıyla meşgul etmesine rağmen yeni bir konu olması nedeniyle yeterli sayıda bilimsel kaynağın henüz mevcut olmaması, araştırma esnasında karşılaşılan en büyük güçlük olmuştur. Bu nedenle temel bilgi kaynağı olarak yazılı basın ve yoğun olarakta bankacılık sektörüyle ilgili internet siteleri kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada, diğer ülkelerdeki bankacılık krizleri ve yeniden yapılandırma uygulamaları da incelenmekle birlikte, esas olarak Türkiye'deki kriz ve bankacılık sektörü yeniden yapılandırma uygulamaları üzerinde durulmuş, özellikle son yıllarda peşpeşe yaşanan banka kapanmalarının neden ve sonuçlan ele alınarak uygulanmaya çalışılan yeniden yapılandırma programı tartışılmıştır. Sonuç olarak, bankacılık krizleri nedenlerinin tüm ülkeler için hemen hemen aynı olmakla birlikte önem derecelerinin değiştiği, ülkemizde ise asıl neden olarak istikrarsız makroekonomik ve siyasi yapı ile ahlaki nedenler ve kötü yönetimin ön plana çıktığı belirlenmiştir. ABSTRACT The basic problems studied in this thesis are the banking crises and the restructuring aplications for the banking sector. Although the subject of the study is extensively on the agenda of our country, the main difficulty encountered during the study was the insufficient number of resources on the matter since it is a new subject. Therefore, press and extensively the internet sites related with the banking sector are used as the basic information resources. Although the banking crises in foreign, countries and the restructuring applications thereof are also studied in this thesis, mainly the crisis in Turkey and the restructuring applications for the banking sector are dwelt upon and especially the reasons and outcomes of the banks closed one after the other in the recent years are examined and the restructuring program tried to be applied is discussed.
