Abstract
- Sea snail samples were collected sea sonally [Summer (July), Winter (February), Fall (November) and Spring (May)] from 12 stations located at the seaside of Artvin, Rize, Trabzon and Giresun in the Eastern Black Sea Region. The heavy metal concentrations of the samples were determined by EDXRF spectrometer (Epsilon5, PANalytical, Almelo, the Netherlands). From the results of heavy metal analyzes of all samples it was tried to determine the elemental concentrations of Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Cd and Pb. The Cr concentration in the soft tissues of sea snail was the highest with 339 µgg-1 in November at T1 station and the lowest with 27 µgg-1in May at R1 station. Mn concentration in the soft tissues of sea snail was the highest with 1397 µgg-1in February at A2 station and the lowest with 87 µgg-1in November at A1 station. The Fe concentration in the soft tissues of sea snail was observed the highest with 26287 µgg-1 in February at T1 station and the lowest with 3313 µgg-1 in February at R3 station. The highest Ni in the soft tissues of sea snail concentration was determined as 82 µgg-1in February at A2 station while the lowest was 5,04 µgg-1in February at R3 station. The Cu concentration in the soft tissue of the sea snail was observed 2874 µgg-1 as the highest in May at T4 station and the lowest as 373 µgg-1in November at G1 station. The highest Zn concentration in the soft tissue of the sea snail was determined as 2068 µgg-1 in November at T2 station and the lowest was as 689 µgg-1in February at T3 station. The As concentration of the soft tissue of the sea snail was the highest in May at T4 station with 374 µgg-1while it was the lowest in May at T2 station with 80 µgg-1. The highest Cd concentration in the soft tissue of the sea snail was determined as 123 µgg-1 in July at G2 station and the lowest was as 10 µgg-1in May at T2 station. The highest Pb concentration in the soft tissue was 695 µgg-1in November at T2 station while the lowest was 32 µgg-1in February at T4 station. According to the results of the heavy metals, it is easily argued that the environmental pollution is sources anthropologic means human sourced. Also results show several industrial activities trigger the pollution. 2016, 83
