Recepce Hamleta v plzeňských divadlech

Hamlet je jednou z nejdiskutovanějších a nejoblíbenějších Shakespearových her. Recepce Hamleta je stejně dlouhá jako jeho jevištní historie. Svou cestu si našel i do plzeňských divadel. Cílem tohoto článku je vysledovat recepci inscenací Hamleta, které se v Plzni hrály od otevření nového Městského divadla v roce 1902. První část čerpá z řady dobových divadelních recenzí a kritických komentářů a druhá část vychází z autorovy estetické zkušenosti. Článek se dále pokouší zjistit, jak režijní záměry a volby spolu s konkrétními hereckými strategiemi formovaly dané shakespearovské inscenace. Hamlet is one of Shakespeare’s most widely discussed and popular plays. Its reception history is as long as its stage history. It also found its way to Pilsen theatres. The aim of this article is to trace the reception of the productions of Hamlet that have been staged in Pilsen since the opening of the new Municipal Theatre in 1902. The first part draws on a range of period theatre reviews and critical commentaries, whereas the second part is based on the author’s aesthetic experience. The article furthermore attempts to find out how directorial intentions and choices, along with particular acting strategies, shaped the Shakespearean productions in question.
