Propaganda and Foreign Policy

Bu çalışma propaganda kavramını tarihsel bir perspektiften alarak günümüze kadar geçirdiği dönüşümü ele almaktadır. Bu çerçevede öncelikli olarak kavram ayrıntılı bir şekilde tanımlanmış ardından tarihsel bir bakış açısıyla günümüze kadar gelinen süreçte kazandığı önem vurgulanmaya çalışılmıştır. Propagandanın kaynakları, çeşitleri ve amaçları tanımlandıktan sonra dış politika ile olan ilgisi irdelenmiş ve pratik bir örnek olarak Ermeni toplumunun I. Dünya Savaşı sonrası sözde Ermeni Soykırımı temelinde kimliklerini korumak uğruna uyguladıkları propaganda çalışmaları incelenmiştir.
This study deals with the concept of propaganda in historical perspective which had a transformation until today. Within this framework, firstly, the concept was described in detail and then, with a historical perspective, the importance it gained during the process until today was aimed to be described. After the sources, the kinds and the aims of propaganda was described, its relation with the foreign policy was scrutinized and for a practical example, The Armenian society’s propaganda studies, which were under the skin of the so called Armenian Genocide after World War I, were examined, which they applied for the sake of saving their identity.
