Digital accessibility of preprint servers

U ovom radu smo se upoznali s osnovnim terminima digitalne pristupačnosti, standardima i dokumentima vezanih za pristupačnost kao što su WCAG, ATAG, te kriterije uspjeha određenih razina. Nadalje, opisani su različiti invaliditeti korisnika kao i njihove potrebe prema pomagalima u korištenju računala i internetskih stranica. Nakon obrađivanja teorijskog znanja koje nam je bilo potrebno za razumijevanje ove teme, najbitniju stavku predstavljaju preprintevi i poslužiteljski serveri istih, provedena je analiza funkcioniranja alata WAVE za automatsku provjeru digitalne pristupačnosti . Testirano je niz početnih stranica poslužiteljskih servera u svrhu pronalaska grešaka vezanih za WCAG 2.1 standarde te uspoređivanje rezultata s kriterijima uspjeha određenih razina na temelju kojih su doneseni zaključci. Rezultati su predstavljeni tabelarno te putem grafičkih prikaza. In this paper, we got acquainted with the basic terms of digital accessibility, standards and documents related to accessibility such as WCAG, ATAG, and success criteria of certain levels. Furthermore, the different disabilities of the users are described, as well as their needs for aids in using computers and internet sites. After processing the theoretical knowledge that we needed to understand this topic, the most important item in this paper is represented by preprints and their servers, an analysis of the functioning of the WAVE tool for automatic verification of digital accessibility was carried out. A number of home pages of servers with preprints were tested for the purpose of finding errors related to WCAG 2.1 standards and comparing the results with the success criteria of certain levels on the basis of which conclusions were drawn. The results are presented tabularly and graphically.
