Analysis of Certain Parameters of Situational Efficiency in UEFA Football Champions League Season 2015./2016

Osnovni cilj ovog istraživanja bio je utvrditi utječu li odabrani parametri situacijske učinkovitosti pozitivno ili negativno na krajnji ishod unutar grupne faze UEFA nogometne Lige prvaka sezone 2015./2016. Parametri su preuzeti sa službene UEFA-ine internet stranice. Istraživanje je provedeno na uzorku od ukupno 96 utakmica, a metode koje su korištene za obradu podataka pored su deskriptivna statistika i t-test. Pregledom dosadašnje literature, a uspoređujući sa dosadašnjim istraživanjima cilj je bio ustanoviti koje parametre situacijske učinkovitosti posjeduju uspješne ekipe. Dobiveni rezultati mogu se koristiti u svrhu planiranja i programiranja trenažnog procesa te pri odabiru i kreiranju strategije nogometne igre.
The main aim of this research is to determine whether the chosen parameters of situational effectiveness influence the final outcome of the UEFA Champions League 2015/2016 season group stage, either in a positive or a negative way. The parameters were collected from the official UEFA website. The research has been conducted on a sample of 96 football matches, and the methods used to test the hypothesis were descriptive statistics and the t-test. By a revision of published literature, and comparing to previous research, the aim is to determine which parameters of situational efficiency the successful teams do possess. The obtained results can be used for the purpose of planning and programming the training process, and also in chosing and creating a strategy of the football game.
